Circus Camp

Circus Camp at Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm will be filled with learning new skills in circus arts, including clowning, juggling, tightrope, trapeze, and acrobatics,  just to name a few. We will then bring it all together at the end of each week in a wonderful showcase performance for friends and relatives to enjoy.

See camp dates and prices below.

Circus Camp Age Groups

Circus Camp is offered as two age-specific programs: ages 6-8 years and ages 9-14 years, based on your child’s age on the first day of camp. For example, if your student is 8 on the first day of camp, and they turn 9 midway through the week, they should be registered for the 6-8 year old camp. Age ranges are strictly adhered to and your child will be moved to the appropriate group if they are registered for the wrong camp (pending space is available).

Circus Camp Ages 6-8

A fun and supportive way to experience a variety of circus arts and related crafts such as juggling, unicycling, tumbling, clowning, springboard & mat work. Each Friday, we'll host a showcase performance at the end of the day for families to highlight skills learned during the week.

Circus Camp Ages 9-14

Offered as a two-week session to allow our older students to build a more in depth show over the course of two weeks. Students will have the opportunity to try all sorts of circus techniques and build acts together.

Flying Trapeze Ages 7-17

A favorite of all our campers! Experience what it's like to truly fly on a 32-foot flying trapeze rig, with a net of course! Students work at their own level and on individual tricks with showcases at the end of each week.

Circus Camp Aftercare

Care after 1:00 PM is offered for ages 6-14, until 3:30 PM. Only those registered for Circus Camp may register for Circus Camp Aftercare (no farm camp attendees, please).

If your family has a repeat camper and you need to add a sibling or other relation who is not a current SWSF student and has not attended camp, please email the full name & birthdate of the new camper to registrar@summerfieldwaldorf.org before registering.

Farm Camp

Farm Camp at Summerfield Waldorf School & Farm is an opportunity for children to connect with the natural world while living into the rhythms and experience of a working farm. The day is designed to inspire a connection with and love of nature and the outdoors. Activities include gathering eggs, planting in the garden, picking berries and vegetables, and cooking delicious organic snacks, crafts, games, songs and stories.

See camp dates and prices below.

Farm Camp Age Groups

Farm Camp is offered as two age-specific programs: ages 4-5 years and ages 6-10 years, based on your child’s age on the first day of camp. For example, if your student is 5 on the first day of camp, and they turn six midway through the week, they should be registered for the 4-5 year old camp. Age ranges are strictly adhered to and your child will be moved to the appropriate group if they are registered for the wrong camp (pending space is available).

Farm Camp Ages 4-5

Based in our beautiful Kindergarten Village, this younger group will do crafts, sing, play games, hear stories, and enjoy outdoor play time. They will also embark on journeys to the Farm and Permaculture Garden to visit with the animals, pick berries, gather eggs and harvest vegetables.  Children gain a reverence for the natural world and learn about caring for animals and the earth.

Farm Camp Ages 6-10

The start of each day involves circle time on hay bales, setting the tone for farm chores ahead. From gathering eggs to planting in the garden, drying herbs, picking berries, and harvesting vegetables, the activities unfold. Children actively participate, assisting farmers in field work and in preparation of delicious organic snacks in the outdoor kitchen. Later, crafting and games take place. The day ends with lunch and a story.

Farm Camp Aftercare

Aftercare runs from 1:00 PM until 3:30 PM, held in our kindergarten village for the 4-5 year-olds, and in our lower school aftercare area for ages 6-10. Only those registered for Farm Camp may register for Farm Camp Aftercare (no circus camp attendees, please).

  • Please send your child dressed in layers. Sonoma County mornings can be cold and foggy, while by midday it can get quite hot!

  • Please send your student in clothes that are comfortable to move in. No metal zippers or rivets in Circus Camp.

  • Shoes should be easy to take on and off.

  • Participation in Circus & Trapeze Camp entails close physical interaction/contact with students and instructors. This may include being carried, caught, thrown, grabbed, and held. Some activities may include sitting or standing on another person’s shoulders or carrying a person on their own shoulders. SWSF expects all participants and instructors to abide by the agreements that are reviewed at the start of each camp session regarding safety, respect and responsibility, especially in such close interactions. Students are always free to refrain from participating in any conduct in which they do not feel comfortable. Also, they are encouraged to report any concerns about inappropriate behavior to any instructor and/or the School’s Director. Any person who has violated the camp agreements will receive an appropriate consequence.

Registration Policy

We have an open enrollment policy and camp registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis. We plan our staffing needs according to registrations in order to provide a safe and fun environment for our campers.

SPACE IS NOT GUARANTEED AND YOUR CHILD IS NOT ENROLLED UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.

Parents have the option of paying in full online at the time of registration, either by credit card or ACH withdrawal, or cash or check. After May 31, only online payments will be accepted.

If paying by cash or check, your payment is due within three  business days of your registration or your child will not be enrolled in the camp. If you cannot guarantee we will receive your cash or check within 3 business days, please pay online.

Required Registration Forms

In addition to completing the online registration process, there are several forms that are required to be on file in order for your child to attend summer camp at SWSF. Current SWSF families already have these forms on file and are not required to fill them out as part of the camp registration process.

Families of non-SWSF students must complete and return these forms (compiled into one google form) prior to the start of camp.

Refund Policy

If you cancel within 24 hours of your purchase, you will receive a full refund for the cancellation, minus a $75 processing fee.

If you withdraw from camp between:

  • February 1, 2026 through March 31, 2026, you forfeit 50% of the camp cost.

  • April 1, 2026 and May 31, 2026, you forfeit 75% of the camp cost.

  • After May 31, 2025, the full camp fee is non-refundable.

All cancellations or withdrawals must be submitted in email to the Registrar, and refund requests are subject to review by the Summer Camp Director.

During camp, we do not offer refunds due to absences for any reason, including illnesses, homesickness, unforeseeable acts of nature, and acts that are not under Summerfield’s Summer Camp’s control. In addition, Summerfield’s Summer Camps cannot prorate the camp registration fee for any time your child may miss.

Camp Cancellations

We reserve the right to cancel or make changes to any camp due to low enrollment. We will notify you in a timely manner if a camp is canceled. If we cannot find a suitable alternative for the camper, you will receive a 100% refund.

Camp No-Show

Camp fees are forfeited if you decide not to send your child to any camp session.

Camp Age Group or Weekly Session Transfers

We prepare our sign-in/out rosters one week prior to camp, therefore we do not allow transfers between age group classes or weekly sessions seven days before the start of a camp.

You may request a transfer between age groups or weekly sessions within 24 hours of registration without a fee. There is a $25 transfer fee (per transfer) after the 24 hour period. Transfers are made only if space is available.

In order to switch between Farm Camp and Circus Camp, you must withdraw from one following our Refund Policy, and personally sign up for the other via our registration portal.

Fee for Late Pick Ups

Please arrive on time to pick up your child each day. Pick-ups more than 15 minutes after the scheduled end time for a particular session are considered LATE PICK-UPS. All late pick-ups will be checked into the camp’s Aftercare and will be charged a $25 fee.

If your child is picked up more than 15 minutes from Aftercare, you will be charged an additional $10 fee for each 15-minute block of time thereafter until your child has been picked up from campus. On-site staff does not have the authority to waive any fees.
