A note from our Admissions Director
Welcome to Summerfield Waldorf School & Farm! We are delighted to welcome you to Summerfield, where education comes alive through experience, creativity, and community. We invite you to discover the beauty and intentionality that make Summerfield such a special place for children to grow, explore, and thrive.
At Summerfield, we believe in nurturing the whole child—hands, heart, and head—through a rich curriculum that spans from birth to 18 years old. From the earliest years in our parent-child program to the transformative experiences of our high school, every stage of learning is designed to honor the unique journey of each student. We take an active and immersive approach to education, engaging all the senses to create a learning environment that is both experiential and transformative.
Our programs integrate disciplines like art, music, and hands-on work in nature into a curriculum that sparks curiosity, fosters creativity, and nurtures a lifelong love of learning. In every classroom, you’ll find children not just learning but experiencing—whether they’re painting, performing music, or caring for animals on our Biodynamic® farm. This holistic, multisensory approach ensures that every student is seen and supported in their individual journey, building both strong academic skills and deep social-emotional competencies.
Beyond the classroom, Summerfield is a vibrant community where relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Through seasonal festivals, assemblies, international exchange programs, plays, sporting events, and community service, students and families alike form lasting bonds and become part of something bigger.
We invite you to visit our campus and experience this magic firsthand. Whether through a Walk the Grades tour or a Walk the High School tour, you’ll witness the deep connections, creativity, and sense of purpose that define our school. We are so happy you are here and look forward to meeting you and sharing more about how Summerfield can be a part of your family’s educational journey.
With warm regards,
Annalyse Jorgensen

What our parents say about our Summerfield Waldorf education

We Came For The No Screen Policy ~ Dr. Jane PSY.D., G2 Parent
We really wanted to be part of a community that prioritized real world engagement, as we knew we couldn’t do it alone. It wouldn’t work to be the one weird family that single handedly avoided the allure of screens. We needed a village that would also put their phones down, turn their TVs off, and collectively embrace relating with ourselves and each other in real time and space.
In this past year, our vitality has not only returned but grown, with each of us benefitting from the dramatic changes we made to our relationships with devices. Instead of failing alone in our desire to turn away from screens, we are grateful for the opportunity to be part of a culture that doesn’t need them...Summerfield’s policy was a deep gift to our family.
Laura, parent of G4 & G7 students
“It has been a year since we moved our family from the East Bay in the middle of the school year. One of the reasons we moved is because the use of screens in schools was so rampant. We came here in search of a group of people who felt the same way we did — who wanted children to have a childhood, run wildly, get muddy, connect with each other in person and experience the world with their senses.
Our year has exceeded our expectations. What has stood out as we have gotten to know the students even better is seeing them thrive, free from early media influence.
